Effective August 31, 2026 · Loupe for macOS · HEG Inc.
The short version
Loupe’s photo indexing and search run entirely on your Mac. Your photos, search text, and local search index never leave your Mac and are never sent to HEG Inc. Loupe has no account, advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDK.
What Loupe accesses
With your permission, Loupe reads your Apple Photos library to build a local search index and display results. No photo, thumbnail, or index data is uploaded.
Apple system services
Two optional features use Apple services. Place names use CLGeocoder, and map previews use MapKit. Photos containing GPS metadata may therefore send coordinates to Apple to return a place name or map tile. HEG does not receive that data.
Website and purchase
This website does not use advertising or analytics. Loupe is sold on the Mac App Store, where Apple is the seller. Apple processes your purchase — payment, tax, receipts, and refunds — under Apple’s privacy policy. HEG never sees your payment details. Apple provides HEG only aggregated sales and app analytics reports, which do not identify individual customers.
Data we collect in the app
None. The app does not transmit personal data to HEG.
Children
Loupe does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
